- Audio is deleted as soon as the note is written. Owners and admins can keep it for 7 or 30 days instead in Settings → Organization → General, under Audio retention.
- Audio of a visit that failed processing is kept for 7 days so the visit can be retried, then deleted.
- Unfinished recordings are deleted after 24 hours.
- Transcripts, documents and patient records are kept until you delete them.
- Deleted visits stay in the trash for 3 days by default (owners and admins can choose 1–30 days or turn the trash off), then are permanently purged.
- Records of someone who leaves the practice stay with the practice, under their name, and owners and admins can reassign them. See Former members and reassigning records.
- A deleted practice can be restored by an owner for 30 days, then everything in it is permanently deleted. See Delete or restore a practice.
- Encrypted backups are kept for up to 35 days.
- The audit trail is kept for at least six years and can’t be edited.
Quillentra doesn’t delete your notes on a timer, because how long a medical record must be kept is set by your practice and the laws that apply to it. File each signed note in your EHR or other record system.
