Getting started

Using Quillentra alongside your EHR

Quillentra doesn’t connect to EHRs yet. Copy notes with their formatting, copy single sections, or export PDF and Word files.

  4. Good habits

Quillentra doesn’t integrate directly with any EHR today. It doesn’t read your schedule or patient list from your EHR, and it can’t send notes into the chart. These options get your note into the chart quickly.

Copy the whole note

Select Copy all above the note, then paste into your EHR. Quillentra copies the note as formatted text, so headings and lists keep their formatting in editors that accept it. Editors that only accept plain text receive a plain-text version.

Copy one section

Hover over a section’s heading and select the copy icon next to it. This helps when your EHR has separate fields for parts of the note, such as the history or the plan.

Export a file

Select Export, then Download PDF or Download Word (.docx), and attach the file to the chart. On a phone, both are in the document’s ⋯ menu. Each file shows the date of service, the clinician, and whether the document is signed. File names don’t include the patient’s name.

Good habits

  • Sign the note in Quillentra before you copy or export it, so the copy you file is final.
  • Keep your EHR as the record of care. Quillentra keeps notes until you delete them, but how long medical records must be kept is set by your practice and the law, so file each signed note in your EHR.
  • Downloaded files contain patient information. Store them according to your practice’s policies.
  • Every copy and export is recorded in your practice’s audit log.
