This walkthrough records an in-person visit with your device’s microphone. For other ways to capture a visit, see Recording visits.
Record
- Select Visits in the sidebar.
- Under Template, choose how the note should be written, for example SOAP Note. Your default template is already selected.
- Under Patient, pick a patient or select Add new patient. This is optional, and you can assign a patient later.
- Optionally, add Context: anything the AI should know, such as the reason for the visit, vitals or relevant history.
- Tell the patient you use an AI scribe and ask for their consent. Then tick The patient consented to having this visit recorded for AI-assisted documentation. Suggested wording appears under the checkbox.
- Select Record visit. The first time, your browser asks to use the microphone. Allow it.
- Hold your visit as usual. You can Pause and Resume. Audio is saved securely in short segments as you go.
- When you’re done, select Stop & create note.
Quillentra secures the audio, transcribes the conversation and writes your note. This usually takes under a minute, and you can leave the page while it works.
Review and finish
- Read the draft. Click into any section to edit it. Changes save automatically.
- To change something by asking, type a request in the AI assistant panel. See Edit a note by asking the AI.
- When the note is final, select Sign.
- Select Copy all to paste the note into your EHR, or Export to download a PDF or Word file.
The Transcript tab shows the full transcript with timestamps and speaker labels. Speaker labels may be imperfect.
Good to know
- Keep the tab open while you record. Your browser warns you if you try to close it while audio is still being saved.
- Recording counts as activity, so you won’t be signed out automatically during a long visit.
- To throw a recording away, select Discard. The audio captured so far is permanently deleted.
