Deleting your account can’t be undone. Export your data first if you might need it.
- Go to Settings → Data & privacy.
- Under Delete account, select Delete my account.
- Type DELETE to confirm. If you have a password, enter it too; if you don’t, this works within 10 minutes of signing in (sign out and back in first if it’s been longer).
- Select Permanently delete.
What happens next
- Your account is deactivated and signed out everywhere straight away.
- A background job finishes the deletion, normally within minutes: your sign-in methods, sessions, preferences and personal Ask Quillentra conversations are deleted, and the account can never sign in again. You can sign up again later with the same email address.
- The visits, documents, patients and templates you created belong to your practice’s records, so they stay with the practice, under your name. Its owners and admins can reassign them to a colleague; see Former members and reassigning records. Documents you signed keep your name as the signer.
- If you’re the only member of a practice, the practice and all of its data are deleted too. If it’s on a paid plan, the plan is canceled immediately and no further charges are made.
- If colleagues remain, the practice and its plan carry on without you. On a paid plan, the seat count updates by itself.
- The audit trail, which HIPAA requires us to keep, and usage counts with no patient information are retained. Deleted data can remain in encrypted backups for up to 35 days.
If you’re the practice’s only owner
A practice with other members always keeps an owner. If you’re its only owner, the delete dialog says so, and Quillentra won’t delete your account until you make a colleague an owner in Settings → Organization → Members (see Invite members and manage roles), or delete the practice if no one will use it. The same goes for a practice that’s scheduled for deletion: only an owner can restore it, so restore it and make someone else an owner, or wait until it’s deleted.
To stop being a member of one practice but keep your account, select Leave practice on the same page instead.
