Recording an in-person visit

Record a visit with your microphone, pause and resume, and what happens if your connection drops or the recording is interrupted.

On this page· 3 sections
  1. While you record
  2. If a recording is interrupted
  3. Language
  1. In Visits, choose a Template and, optionally, a Patient and Context.
  2. Ask the patient for consent, then tick the consent checkbox.
  3. With In person chosen at the top of Start a visit (the default), select Record visit.
  4. When the visit ends, select Stop & create note.

Place your device where it can hear both you and the patient.

While you record

  • The timer shows how long you’ve recorded. Select Pause to stop capturing for a moment and Resume to continue. Paused time isn’t recorded.
  • Audio is uploaded in 10-second segments while you record. The status under the timer shows Audio is saved securely as you go when everything has been uploaded.
  • If your connection drops, keep going. Quillentra holds the audio and retries automatically, and the status reads “Connection problem: audio is kept and retried automatically”.
  • To throw the recording away, select Discard, then Discard again to confirm. The audio captured so far is permanently deleted, and the visit stays in your list as a Draft so you can record again or delete it.

If a recording is interrupted

If the tab closes or your device restarts before you stop, open the visit from Visits. You’ll see This recording was interrupted. Select Create note from saved audio to write the note from what was captured, or Discard audio. Unfinished recordings are deleted automatically after 24 hours.

Language

To record a visit in another language, select the language button under Context before you start (it reads, for example, Spoken English · Note in English). See Note and transcription language.
