Telehealth: capture tab audio

Record both sides of a video visit by sharing the call’s browser tab. Works in Chrome or Edge on a desktop or laptop computer.

Telehealth mode records the patient’s voice from the browser tab running your video call and your voice from your microphone, and mixes them into one recording. Only audio is recorded. The tab’s video isn’t recorded or uploaded.

Before you start

  • Use Chrome or Edge on a desktop or laptop computer.
  • Open the video call in a tab in the same browser.

Record a telehealth visit

  1. In Visits, choose a template and, optionally, a patient. Ask the patient for consent and tick the consent checkbox.
  2. At the top of Start a visit, choose Telehealth, then select Capture telehealth call.
  3. Your browser asks what you want to share. Choose the tab with your call.
  4. Make sure sharing the tab’s audio is turned on (Share tab audio), then confirm.
  5. Allow microphone access if your browser asks.
  6. When the visit ends, select Stop & create note.

Good to know

  • If your microphone isn’t available (for example, because the call app is using your headset), Quillentra records the tab’s audio only, so your side of the conversation may be missing.
  • If you stop sharing or close the call’s tab, a message says that audio capture ended. Select Stop & create note to save what was recorded.
  • If your video platform runs as a separate desktop app, its audio isn’t in a browser tab. Join the call from your browser instead, if the platform allows it.
