Choosing a template

Browse the 40 built-in templates, mark favorites, set your default, and switch a visit to a different template.

On this page· 3 sections
  1. Find a template
  2. Favorites and your default
  3. Use a different template for a visit

Templates decide how your notes are written: which sections appear, what goes in each one, and the style. Quillentra includes 40 built-in templates: 32 clinical notes (such as SOAP, H&P, progress notes and specialty notes), 6 letters, patient instructions and a work or school excuse note. You can also create your own.

Find a template

  1. Select Templates in the sidebar.
  2. Search by name, specialty or tag, pick a specialty, or use the filters: All, Favorites, Custom (yours and your practice’s), Notes, Letters, Patient documents and Forms.
  3. Open a template to see its sections and the instructions the AI follows.

Favorites and your default

  • Select the star on a template card or at the top of the template’s page. Favorites appear first when you pick a template for a visit.
  • On a template’s page, open the ⋯ menu and select Make my default. Your default is preselected in Visits. If you haven’t chosen one, SOAP Note is used.

Use a different template for a visit

Picked the wrong template? Open the note, open the ⋯ menu, select Regenerate…, choose another template and select Regenerate. The note is rewritten in the new template, and the previous text is kept in version history.
